This weight loss aid is now sold over the counter with the brand name Alli. It went on sale in the UK at the beginning of 2009.
Unfortunately, this was a pill I had used some years ago. It was only available on prescription at that time and I used pills that were not prescribed for me, in hindsight a bit daft and I don't advise anyone to use pills not prescribed for them. Anyway, I was young and wanted to lose a few pounds, the quick and easy way - or so I thought.
The worse diet pill I have used!
This pill is used to stop the absorption of fat in the diet, in the advert it says 'for every 2lb you lose naturally, Alli will help you lose 1lb more'.
It wasn't worth it, the flatulence was awful, the leakage - yes leakage, was awful. Depending on what you eat you could pass wind and end up with an orange oil stain!
(I know this is gross but I want you to know what I experienced). You literally have to wear a sanitary pad - not a good idea if you are a man! LOL. Anyway, because the leakage was so gross and the smell was terrible, I reduced my fatty foods intake a little. So the pills were kind of useless as I wasn't eating a diet high in fat. I lost about 3lb, not worth it considering the side effects, I don't think this wasn't due to the pill though.
I am 5"4" and at the time weighed around 130lbs, so I wasn't overweight BUT my aunt (whom I got the pills from) was a classed as obese and the side effects for her were absolutely dreadful (oil dripping down her legs, Honestly! Yes she lost weight but I know there are better ways to do it. My opinion is, do not use these pills, for the reasons stated above and also because as soon as you stop using them then the weight loss will plateau or worse you will put it back on.

Ionamin (Phentermine)
I took this pills about 7 years ago, I was desperate to be a size 8, at the time I was a size 10 (UK) . All my friends were very slim, I had to do something. I knew my doctor wouldn’t prescribe this so I called a ‘diet’ doctor that a few people had told me about who would prescribe pills for you privately. Off I went to see him, I thought of putting weights in my pockets or something but he was wise to that trick so I didn’t bother. The shocking thing was that he told me I was a bit overweight. I was a size 10 for goodness sake and I’m 5"4"!
Anyway, I got my prescription, went to the pharmacist and he gave me a weird look, I ignored it.
What an experience. I got down to the size 8 but I looked half dead!
These pills are no joke. I had jitters, my heart raced and felt like it was coming out of my chest, and the worse thing was I couldn’t sleep and my mouth was constantly dry. I felt awful, they say you MAY get side effects, trust me- you WILL have side effects. I took these pills for about 2 weeks as I think they stop working after a while. I have been tempted to use them again but the side effects were really bad so I haven't If you want a quick fix then yes, but at your peril!

Sculpt your body slim
Toward the end of 2007 my partner and I bought a new weights bench and free weights. I bought some books, one by Marc Anthony (he has featured on the UK programme "Pop goes the band") and I started to do weights and take protein shakes, my diet was the same, as I do like my food but the free weights did the trick, my love handles disappeared and this was in the space of 4 weeks...if you want to lose weight and TONE UP, do weights, there are some good guides out there. you cannot go wrong with this.
I followed the workout doing it once a week and I built up from beginner to advanced, the weight loss was good but the shape of my body changing was signiicant and my strength increased.
I also used maximuscle protein which helped to sculpt me.
I am now back doing this as my summer holidays are coming up so wish me luck!

The Pink Patch
I bought and used the pink patch for 30 days, it was very discreet like a little square plaster, it is waterproof but I still thought it best to try to shower 'around' the patch, make sure you don't moisturise the area you are sticking it on and not somewhere you will sweat a lot as it did come off a few times, its recommended to stick it on the stomach or thigh...
Right, the bit you want to hear about.
I don't know if it was just me or the patch but I DID feel less hungry, not all of these things work, hence why I review them, but this one did. I lost 5lbs over about 14 days, this is a good weight loss, anything more (unless you do the detox I recommend is just water loss).
You can get a free trial with it as well to try it first. I liked this one as I didn't want to keep popping pills, it was nice to stick the patch on and forget about it, which I did once or twice, stuck a new patch on without taking the old one off!, I probably subconsciouly thought I was getting a double whammy :-) By the end of the 30 days i'd lost 7lbs. Not bad i'd say!

T5s- My experience
I'm still taking T5's every now and then, I did have a course for 2 weeks but found after the first week I could control what I ate, so I take them every now and then. I'm still doing exercise so things are looking up for me!
Ok, with T5s they are meant to be Caffeine, Aspirin and Ephedrine, (ECA stack) although the pills just come in a little brown envelope so I cannot verify what is in them, I suppose its a chance i've taken.
I have had good results with these, my blood pressure is normal as I recently saw my GP, I don't get palpitations or any other nasty side effects. I thought I was allergic to aspirin when I was younger, but I am OK with these pills.
I can honestly say these have been 1 of the only pills which really work.
The only thing I would say is, don't go mad with coffee, tea and coke (coca cola :-) ) while taking them as you can get a bit jittery as you will be ingesting far too much caffeine, i did this once, I haven't done it again.
You do feel alert and I find when I take these I get a lot more done...try to take them early in morning with breakfast, as the later you take them the harder it is to get to sleep and you will start relying on them to pick you up the following day, and you don't want to do that.
I find I only need 1 a day maybe every other day or even sometimes every 2-3 days.

T5s
I'm still battling with my body dysmorphia, i've self diagnosed myself...i've been told so many times that my body is fine - i'm a size 12.
I just can't see it, I am never happy with my weight. What I see in the mirror is not a pretty sight.
Its an ongoing cycle of diets, mind reprogramming, half hearted workouts...
My most recent pill to take were T5's, I bought them off eBay, proper T5, more like an ECA stacker £14.75 for 15 pills.
Wow! they sure did work, and every time I have taken them they work...fantastic for a quick fix but admittedly once the pills have finished- after about 3 weeks the weight creeps back.
I would use these pills again though, but only in an 'emergency' if I have an event coming up etc.
In all honesty, I love food, I don't think I will ever be a healthy eater, food is to be enjoyed, yes, my portions could be reduced but something has happened to me, on the run up to me turning 30, i've actually started to and want to exercise, I mean proper, outdoor, fill your lungs with fresh air exercise. Ive started running, no more workout DVDs in my bedroom bumping into the wardrobe, no, I actually look forward to going to a run. Nothing stops me, not even the rain!
All the horror stories of 'losing it' when you reach 30 have really spurred me on to get in shape, heres hoping it lasts.

Slendex
I bought this product and used it for a while. I was drawn to it as it didn't have a whole lot of chemicals and stimulants, the main ingredient was just like a filler. It cost £24.99 for 90 tablets. The idea behind this product is that it makes you feel full so you don't overeat and results in weight loss and controls cravings.
The ingredients are :Methyl Cellulose, Vegetable Shell (Hypromellose), L-Camitine, Magnesium Stearate, Chromium Picolinate.(The Cellulose is what swells in your stomach to make you feel full). You take 1 tablet 30 minutes before meals with a full glass of water. 3 pills per day.
I didn't finish this product (I took it for about 10 days) I never end up finishing a product if it calls for you to take a pill 30 minutes before a meal for every meal as I don't eat at set times. Its just inconvenient! (I'd prefer to pop 1 pill per day, preferably in the morning and forget about it.)
It made me feel pretty constipated and really bloated, not a nice feeling at all. I probably did lose a bit of weight but as I felt so awful and looked 3 months pregnant I didn't weight myself. I decided to stop. Again, another product which didn't help me. Celevac is another product similar to this but it doesn't contain chromium but it is very very cheap (about £2.50) and Chromium is about £4.00 in any health shop so it is a cheaper option.
If portion sizes are your main problem then this product may help, but hopefully you won't get the side effects I did.
